Dr. Bill Hancock

Dr. Bill Hancock, CISM. CISSP, ISSAP, ISSMP is the Executive Vice President of Commercial Solutions and Chief Commercial Officer of Secureinfo Corporation., where he is responsible for commercial security services and strategy. His prior employment includes CSO positions for several large multinational carriers and as CTO for several network and security-centric technology companies.

A well known network and security consultant, designer and engineer with thousands of network designs and hundreds of hacker/cracker track downs to his credit, Bill has “been there and done that.” An expert on networking, security and e-commerce and its various implementations, Bill has been involved in the design and implementation of some of the most sophisticated e-commerce systems in the world and critical infrastructure networks such as power grid, water management, Telco and air-to-ground/ground-to-air networks. He is often seen on- CNN, ABC, BBC, CBC, NBC, FOX and other networks as an expert on security, networking and the Internet. Bill has also done extensive research on cyber warfare and has worked as a consultant and lecturer on same to industry and governments around the world.

Bill has written 31 books on computer networking and security, currently writes a regular column in Network Security magazine and is a columnist for Computers and Security Magazine as well as Business Week. He is a U.S. network expert to the ISO and sits on several government and U.S. White House security committees for several administrations and sits on various standards committees. Bill is the chairman of the FCC NRIC Homeland Security focus group on cybersecurity where his team developed the first set of best practices for cybersecurity issues to protect U.S. infrastructure. Bill also serves on the FCC Technological Advisory Committee, an elite group of technologies which advise the government on networking and telecommunications technology issues.

Bill is recognized in Who’s Who in the World, Who’s Who in America, Who's Who in Science and Engineering and Who’s Who in Finance and Industry. He is also a founding member and Immediate Past Chairman of the Internet Security Alliance, a formidable security team made up of CERT, EIA and top companies who are working to make a real difference in security around the globe.

Bill is a member of many industry societies (IEEE, ACM, DECUS, ANSI, etc.) and has sat on the boards of several organizations. He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM); Information System Security Architecture Professional (ISSAP) and Information System Security Management Professional (ISSMP).
