Patrick Gray

Patrick Gray joins Cisco after spending four years with Internet Security Systems (ISS).  Prior to joining ISS, Patrick served twenty years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).  The first half of his career dealt with investigating Organized Crime activities in several FBI Field Offices in the mid-Atlantic region and Florida.  He served a stint with the National Security Agency where he ran a group that was responsible for "providing support to the Intelligence Community".  In 1994, he started a Special Operations Group in the FBI's Atlanta, Georgia Field Office which was responsible for both physical and technical surveillance in the southeastern United States supporting criminal and counterterrorism investigations.  This squad morphed into one of the first Cybercrime squads in the FBI.  Patrick was also a member of the FBI's elite Computer Assistance Response Team charged with providing forensic analysis supporting computer crime investigations.  He investigated computer crimes ranging from identity theft to theft of intellectual property to online extortion.  Patrick retired from the FBI in November 2001 and joined ISS where he created and managed their Internet Threat Intelligence Center in Atlanta, Georgia.  He was also instrumental in the creation of the world renowned ISS X-Force Threat Analysis Service, a fee-based delivery of threat and vulnerability intelligence.  Patrick started the Emergency Response Service in the X-Force and staffed it with computer forensic professionals from law enforcement, the military, and academia. In his role as Director of X-Force Operations, Patrick became the global security advocate for ISS.  In the past three years, Patrick has traveled to five continents where he has delivered addresses to audiences ranging from the security elite to CXO level executives.  He has lectured at many Universities to include Georgia Tech, the University of Oklahoma, the University of Maryland, Florida International University and others.  He has spoken and keynoted at numerous technology events including Networld Interop, Forbes, Gartner, Techno World, CIO Summits and many others.
