Project Management Process Guide

Effective project management contributes to the better use of resources, budgets, and time, which in turn can result in products that better meet customer needs...

This guide provides tools you can use to effectively manage projects at the State of Nebraska. We’ve arranged the guide by the five project management process groups* shown below. The graphic loosely depicts the relationships between these groups of processes. You can see how the process groups overlap and connect—and how the Monitoring and Control process group underlies the others. We provided this graphic to emphasize that project management is not a serial, single-threaded process. For this reason, we encourage you to read through this entire guide and its associated links before beginning your project. The Project Management Office (PMO) is available to support you at every step...let us know what we can do to help.
